We’re very pleased that Karen will be presenting a panel and a SIG on Women in Technology at the CHI 2016 conference. Both sessions will be on her latest focus — understanding the experience of women when they enter the high tech industry.

Panel: Beyond The Pipeline — Addressing Diversity In High Tech

Karen is moderating a terrific panel of women and men to discuss what happens after women are recruited to join high tech companies. Karen will give a brief overview of the latest research, as well as her own findings. The panel will then share their experiences and engage in what we predict will be a lively, meaningful dialog with the audience.

SIG: Diversity in High Tech — Retaining Employees Once They’re in the Door

Karen and Carol Farnsworth of SAP will be leading the SIG, in which they’ll share the preliminary research on why women leave high tech. Participants will then interact directly with the data and brainstorm possible solutions.
